The Crystal Theatre ~ Portland
This current Crystal Theatre in Portland was built on the site of an earlier original Crystal Theatre that was destroyed by fire in 1925.
Since 1985 the Council has operated the Crystal Theatre as a Community Hall and nowadays it again operates as a movie theatre with films bing shown from September to May on the second Saturday of each month..
Other regular events held at the Crystal Theatre are -
1st weekend in March - Portland Art Exhibition at the Crystal.
1st Saturday in December - Carols at the Crystal
From Sep - May on the 2nd Sat of ea Month - Movies at the Crystal.

At present (2010) more renovations are being carried out at the Crystal Theatre.
